1st Regular Special Advisory Committee Assembly for the SNF’s Heath Initiative

On Thursday, September 27th, 2018, the 1st Special Advisory Committee Assembly for the SNF’s Heath Initiative was held between the Greek State and Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF). The Health Initiative is structured around seven new projects, aiming to further enhance the Greek Health sector, with a budget expected to exceed $290 million.

The Assembly consists of representatives from the Prime Minister’s Office, the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Education, Research and Religious Affairs, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Environment and Energy, the Ministry of Infrastructure, Transport and Networks, the National Center for Emergency Care (EKAV), the University of Athens’ Faculty of Nursing, Hill International, which has undertaken the management of the infrastructure projects, and the SNF. The Special Advisory Committee, which will convene on a regular basis, has been formed to facilitate the effective collaboration between all stakeholders, by giving participants the opportunity to be informed about the development of the overall project, to manage issues that may arise during the progression of the project in a timely manner, and to exchange updates, ideas and suggestions.

It is noted that a Special Advisory Committee of the Greek State and the SNF was also established during the development of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC). The Committee convened regularly until the SNFCC’s delivery to the Greek State to ensure the effective collaboration of all parties involved.

A few days earlier, on September 20th, the grant contract between the SNF and the Greek State for the SNF’s Health Initiative was ratified under law by the Greek Parliament. The contract defines the contractual framework, and the general terms and conditions under which the SNF will implement the grant initiative.
