The New York Times Highlights Film Forum

On July 31st, 2018, the New York Times published an article highlighting the influential work of Film Forum, in light of its recent renovation and expansion, titled “How Influential is Film Forum? Christopher Nolan and Others Explain.”

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation has supported Film Forum’s discount memberships and ticket subsidy programs.

Founded in 1970, Film Forum began as an alternative screening space for independent films. As a cinema of ideas, Film Forum is committed to presenting an international array of films that treat diverse social, political, historical, and cultural realities. Film Forum is the only autonomous nonprofit cinema in New York City and one of the few in the U.S.
