31 August 2018

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC) welcomes September, the month of new beginnings, with an exciting program of events, which includes concerts with guests from the international and Greek music scene, theater and dance performances.

The latter include, among others, French actress Fanny Ardant’s performance in a monodrama for actor and orchestra and a dance piece, entitled “Bastet”, which is presented by renowned choreographer Marianna Kavallieratou, musician Dom Bouffard and six Greek dancers. “Bastet” was originally commissioned by the 2018 Summer Nostos Festival, which is organized and exclusively funded by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).

On Thursday, September 27th, the SNFCC presents Pulitzer laureate Jeffrey Eugenides, an American of Greek descent, in an open discussion with author, Kallia Papadaki, and journalist and book, critic Mikela Chartoulari. Jeffrey Eugenides’ visit to Athens takes place within the framework of the “Athens 2018 World Book Capital” events of the Municipality of Athens, for which lead support is provided by the SNF, and with the support of the U.S. Embassy in Athens.

For yet another month, the SNFCC hosts the event of SNF’s monthly series, DIALOGUES, this time focusing on Beginnings that vary according to person, age and occasion. The 10th DIALOGUES event will take place on Wednesday, September 26th, at 17:30 (ΕΕΤ), at the SNFCC Lighthouse.

Admission to SNFCC events for September is free through the exclusive support of the SNF.
