02 July 2018

On Wednesday, July 4th, 2018, the public hospital “Centre Hospitalier Princesse Grace” of Monaco is holding the inauguration of its Sensory Garden for patients affected by Alzheimer. The creation of the Garden was made possible through a grant by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).

The Garden is part of the Centre Rainier III and welcomes the geriatric services of the Hospital. It was created on the terrace of a closed unit for patients with severe neurodegenerative conditions and important behavioral troubles. The project was created by students from the local public college and will be a gathering place for future inter-generational cultural and environmental activities.

The Centre Hospitalier Princesse Grace is the only public hospital of the Principality of Monaco. It was inaugurated in 1902 and today hosts up to 840 patients, covering over 21 medical specialties.
