10 MAY 2018 / The Morgan Book Project Special Awards at The Morgan Library

On Friday, May 11th, 2018, The Morgan Library & Museum in New York will host the annual Morgan Book Project Special Awards.

The Morgan Library will display twelve books, created by students from Title I New York City schools participating in The Morgan Book Project, in the exhibition Inspiring and Illuminating the Classroom. At the awards, students whose work was selected will receive an award.

The Morgan Book Project, which is supported by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, is a free program in which teachers from Title I New York City public schools participate in a four-day Summer Institute developed by the Morgan in collaboration with the New York City Department of Education. The program focuses on the integration of book arts into the Common Core standards. Teachers then lead their students in the writing, illustration, and binding of manuscript books, which are submitted to a jury to be selected for an installation at the Morgan.
