SNF Representatives Participate in the 5th Annual Assembly of DIAZOMA

On April 22nd SNF representatives participated in the 5th Annual Assembly of the grantee DIAZOMA. The Meeting was attended by representatives of the local and regional authorities, Committees of Antiquities, the Minister of Culture, Ms. Koniordou, partnering corporations and Foundations, as well as members of the academic and archaeological community.

The SNF has supported DIAZOMA with a series of grants most recently for the funding of the restoration study of the ancient Roman Theatre of Nikopolis. The Roman Theatre of Nikopolis is one of the largest of its period (28 BC) with a capacity of 15,000 spectators. It is one of the five archaeological sites constituting the Cultural Itinerary in the Ancient Theatre of Epirus. Currently, there are 40 workers and archaeology experts working at the Nikopolis Ancient Theater and the project is expected to completed by 2023. 

Diazoma was founded in 2008 with the mission to protect and promote ancient monuments throughout Greece. Diazoma studies and develops projects, linking cultural elements to sustainable development and the real economy.
