Twenty Henry Street Youth Services team members participated in the training, which consisted of lessons and presentations about the Barça Foundation FutbolNet methodology, which aims to teach values to youth using sport-related activities as tools for reflection. The Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) supports the implementation of the FutbolNet methodology programs to benefit more than 3,000 refugee children in Europe and the Middle East.
Representatives from Henry Street Settlement and the Barça Foundation met at last year’s SNF International Conference on Philanthropy.
The SNF also supports the Promoting the Arts Throughout Henry Street (PATHS) program, initiated by Henry Street Settlement, which brings rigorous arts curriculum to all aspects of Henry Street’s programs including education, health, and social services, both enriching and reaching populations that would not otherwise have access to cultural opportunities.
