The program, which is partially supported by the SNF, constitutes a bilateral oral history project which is implemented by Freie Universität Berlin in collaboration with NKUA. The project is an exemplary synergy between a German and a Greek University aiming in the collection and filing of oral interviews from people who suffered during the German occupation in Greece. The project consisted of 90 interviews from survivors and witnesses of the occupation. The material was then digitized and is available on a portal which will be used not only by historians and Universities but also from schools in Greece, Germany, and beyond. The portal will provide multiple search functionalities, will present the videos with transcripts, keywords, and registers, as well as short biographies, summaries, and contextualizing historical sources. The project is also supported by the German Federal Office, the Erinnerung, Verantwortung und Zukunft foundation and Freie Universität Berlin.
