The event took place within the context of the "Design for Better Learning” program, which is implemented with the exclusive support of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), in collaboration with Athens Partnership and the Technical University of Crete.
The "Design for Better Learning” program aims at transforming school facilities through holistic interventions which include maintenance and renovation of classrooms, common areas and courtyards, in order to improve teaching and learning environment, encouraging at the same time the active participation of students, teachers and parents.
The one-day workshop presented the outcomes after the program’s successful implementation in 24 public schools, highlighting the best practices while noting the challenges that came to light and the ways used to address them.
The program is part of the SNF’s €10 million grant allocated to the Municipality of Athens for the support of projects for the rejuvenation and the upgrade of the city center, in the context of the Foundation’s “Initiative Against the Greek Crisis."
