09 JANUARY 2018 / SNF Grantees Theater of War Productions and WNYC Announce New Partnership

SNF grantees Theater of War Productions and WNYC have announced a new partnership to present six free performances at The Jerome L. Greene Space, WNYC’s state-of-the-art performance and broadcast studio in New York City.

One performance will take place each month between January and June 2018.
Bryan Doerries, Artistic Director and Founder of Theater of War Productions, is in his second year as New York City Public Artist in Residence (PAIR) with the NYC Department of Cultural Affairs and Department of Veterans’ Services, which is exclusively supported by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF). During the two-year residency, more than 60 Theater of War productions will be presented in diverse communities across all five boroughs of New York.

The SNF first supported Theater of War in 2009. In early 2017, the SNF provided exclusive support for Bryan Doerries, Founder of Theater of War, to serve as a Public Artist in Residence (PAIR) of New York City, in collaboration with the Department of Veterans’ Services and Cultural Affairs. Furthermore, the SNF supported a performance of Antigone by Theater of War, as part of the 2017 Summer Nostos Festival taking place at the SNFCC.
