06 DECEMBER 2017 / The SNF supports the fundraising event Téléthon Monaco 2017 focused on combating rare genetic diseases

Between December 8th and December 10th, 2017, Monaco welcomes Téléthon, the annual fundraising event which has been taking place in France since 1987, aiming to fight against rare genetic progressive and severely disabling illnesses such as neuromuscular diseases.

Supported by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, the ‘Association de Promotion et d’Organisation du Téléthon Monaco’ is the local branch in charge of the organization of the telethon event, which collaborates closely with the Association France Myopathie (AFM), organizer of the Téléthon France.

Established in 2009, the Association OTM organizes each year the “Téléthon Village” in Monaco, where local associations and companies organize fundraising activities, such as special events, concerts and dance shows. This year, schools and shop owners in Monaco contribute to the fundraising effort by organizing charity sales and a raffle. The event is also supported by national TV channels.
