13 December 2017

ArtPlace America has announced 23 projects in which it will be investing across the United States, using its National Creative Placemaking Fund. The projects will span 18 states and one U.S. territory, 52% of which will be working in rural communities.

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation has provided significant support to ArtPlace’s National Creative Placemaking Fund, a national program that reinforces communities in which artists, arts organizations, and arts and culture activities help drive comprehensive community development and planning.

ArtPlace focuses on creative placemaking, bringing public, private, nonprofit and community sectors together to strategically partner to shape the physical and social character of a neighborhood, town, city or region. Their programming is based around art and cultural activities across the US, recognizing the significant role art can play in public life.
