22 Vehicles Delivered to the National Center for Emergency Care as Part of the SNF’s Grant Totaling €14 Million

22 vehicles were delivered today to the National Center for Emergency Care (EKAV) as part of the SNF”s grant to the organization totaling €14 million.

The grant, which is part of the Foundation’s initiative Against the Greek Crisis, entails the procurement of 143 state-of-the-art and fully equipped ambulances, as well as their full service and maintenance for a period of 8 years and the digital upgrade of its operations center. So far 26 vehicles have been delivered while all 143 vehicles are expected to have been delivered within January 2018.

The new vehicles will be made available in various regions across Greece, with the objective of meeting the basic need for open access in matters of secondary and tertiary care for all the residents of the country. The new vehicles will modernize 22% of EKAV’s total ambulance fleet (650 vehicles), replacing older technology vehicles. Furthermore, through this grant, the Foundation will also support the digital upgrade of its Operations Center in Attica which receives more than 1,700,000 calls annually (EKAV 2016 data).
