Training program on Scratch programming supported by the SNF

The Educational Content, Methodology and Technology Laboratory of the Hellenic Open University implements a series of training, interactive seminars that introduce students and teachers in Primary and Secondary education to fundamental concepts in programming, based on “Scratch”, a visual programming environment.

Scratch is a software tool for writing simple computer programs developed by MIT, which offers a simple graphical interface that is accessible to children and beginners.

The educational program “Scratch Coding: Programming – Creating – Learning with Scratch” is made possible through the support of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. The seminars are free of charge and include also the distance learning courses facilitating the participation of educators in remote areas of Greece.

On Monday, November 27th, 2017, the first results of the program was presented at a one-day seminar, during which the best student projects that were created as part of the program were awarded.
