The Royal College of Art Welcomes Six SNF PhD Scholars

Six doctoral students who benefit from the SNF STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Mathematics) Scholarship & Research Fund, talk about their academic experience and interests as well as their research and future plans.

Exclusively supported by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, the SNF STEAM Scholarship & Research Fund has been established earlier this year to strengthen the Royal College of Art’s leadership and innovation in three new fields: City Design, Machine Learning and Materials Science. The six PhD candidates will undertake a doctoral research that draws together design, scientific and technological fields, aiming to help solve today’s global challenges.

Founded in 1837 and incorporated in 1948, the Royal College of Art (RCA) is a postgraduate art and design university. RCA hosts over 1,600 postgraduate artists and designers from 69 nationalities, spread across 6 schools and 24 specialized programs, and has almost 20,000 alumni including renowned designers and artists.
