08 NOVEMBER 2017 / Greek journalist and SNF Fellow at the Columbia University, Kostas Zafeiropoulos, receives prestigious journalism award

The journalist Kostas Zafeiropoulos received this year’s Greek-German Prize for Journalism “Eleni Vlachou”, a testament to his contribution in the field of investigative journalism, the quality and breadth of his reporting.

Mr. K. Zafeiropoulos participated in this year’s intensive summer investigative reporting courses at the Columbia Journalism School, in New York City, through a Scholarship Program exclusively supported by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF). As part of the Scholarship Program, younger as well as more experienced journalists and journalism graduates from Greece have the opportunity to attend specialized training courses in journalism implemented by the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism.

The “Eleni Vlachou” journalism prize, which is established by the German Embassy, is awarded every two years to journalists for their contribution to the fields of news reporting and the coverage of European and international issues in the Greek media.
