The National Archaeological Museum extends the “Odysseys” exhibition

Following the success of its first year, the commemorative exhibition “Odysseys”, supported by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, continues at the National Archaeological Museum, on the occasion of the Museum’s 150th anniversary. The exhibition, which had been very well received by the public, is extended until Sunday, March 25th, 2018.

Since its launch in October 3rd, 2016, to date, the number of museum visitors has increased by 24% in relation to the previous year, with more than 530.000 people having visited the “Odysseys” exhibition. 

Drawing inspiration from Homer’s Odyssey, the exhibition recounts, through the emblematic, as well as the lesser-known ancient works of the National Archaeological Museum, the adventurous journey of human through time, the incessant endeavor to tame his environment, societies’ collective effort for growth and prosperity, as well as the achievements of the human mind.
