23 OCTOBER 2017 / “Oxford Thinking” features an interview with Dr. Luca Castagnoli, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Associate Professor and Fellow in Ancient Greek Philosophy at Oxford University.

“How the Ancient Greek Philosophy and the modern world are connected?” Dr. Luca Castagnoli describes the different ways in which thinking of ancient philosophical questions helps people in their lives and explains the importance of securing the future of Ancient Greek Philosophy at Oxford University’s Oriel College.

Education is a cornerstone of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF)'s grant-making activity, with Classical and Hellenic Studies playing a key part. Supporting the endowment of an Associate Professorship and Fellowship in Ancient Greek Philosophy at Oriel College, follows a long and fruitful collaboration with Oxford as the SNF has not only supported graduate scholarships, but it has also contributed to the Oxford’s Centre for Classical and Byzantine studies.

The University of Oxford is a leading international research and teaching institution and Oriel College was founded in 1326. It is the University’s fifth oldest college and has a long and distinguished tradition in the study of Philosophy.
