13 September 2017

Continuing its ten-year successful and creative journey, the Greek-Turkish Youth Orchestra returned to Greece, on the occasion of its 2017 tour, for a series of concerts, under the direction of the emerging conductor, Zoe Zeniodi.

The music ensemble, which is comprised of more than sixty young Greek and Turkish talented musicians, aged 18 to 28 years old, held five concerts at selected cultural spaces in Rhodes, Heraklion and Rethymno, Crete, Elefsina and Athens, at the beginning of September.

The Greek-Turkish Youth Orchestra was established in 2008 by the Association Musique Pour La Paix, as a means of building bridges of culture, understanding and communication between Greece and Turkey, through the musical coexistence of artists from the two neighboring countries.

Since 2015, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF) has been a proud supporter of the Greek-Turkish Youth Orchestra, an exemplar of intercultural dialogue and lasting cooperation .
