The Mobile Medical Units Visit the Island of Lipsi for the Second Time

From September 14th to September 18th, the Mobile Medical Units (MMUs) will visit the island of Lipsi to provide extensive medical services, free of charge, to its permanent residents.

This is the second visit of the MMUs to the island as they have already visited the majority of remote islands in Greece including among others Kastelorizo, Amorgos, Kasos , Astypalaia, Psarra, Fournoi-Thimaina, Patmos, Folegandros, Nisyros, Tilos, Serifos, Ano Koufonisi, Agios Efstratios, Kimolos, Agathonisi and Anafi.

The Mobile Medical Units is an initiative undertaken by the SNF in collaboration with the Olympic Village Polyclinic with the aim of offering comprehensive health care services to residents of islands and remote areas throughout Greece.

The Mobile Medical Units is accompanied by a scientific team of the Olympic Village Polyclinic, which is in charge of implementing the program, and which consists of the following specialties: gynecologist, a dietician, cardiologist, dentist, orthopedist, ophthalmologist, pulmonologist and otolaryngologist.

The program is implemented by the NGO “Regeneration & Progress”.

On the occasion of the upcoming visit, the president of “Regeneration & Progress”, Dr. Panagiotis Koulouvaris, spoke to ERT (the Greek State Broadcaster) , about the work of the organization.
