National Herald – “Andreas Dracopoulos – In the Pantheon of Greece’s historic figures”
15 September 2017

The National Herald hosts an extensive feature on The New York Times's article regarding the SNF’s landmark gift of $55 million to The New York Public Library.

The article notes that the SNF’s grant will establish an inspiring “Midtown campus” that will reconnect the circulating library with the Library’s iconic research center, creating a free, open destination for thought and exchange of ideas in Midtown Manhattan. The gift will also establish an endowment for programming at the renovated library.

In an op-ed, the National Herald's publisher, Mr. Antonis Diamataris, further focuses on the important contribution of the SNF's Co-President, Mr. Andreas Dracopoulos, noting that “The SNF’s Co-President belongs in the pantheon of Greece's, and not only, historic figures."

Mr. Diamataris underlines the several charitable activities of the SNF in Greece and the US, specifically referencing the establishment of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, the SNF Grant Initiative Totaling Over $230 million to Upgrade Greece’s Health Sector, as well as the SNF Agora Institute at Johns Hopkins and the grant towards the Rockefeller University.
