On Saturday, August 26th, the Athens State Orchestra shares with the audience a unique concert featuring excerpts from West Side Story, The Phantom of the Opera, Chicago, South Pacific and Girl Crazy by composers including Leonard Bernstein, George Gershwin and Andrew Lloyd Webber. The Orchestra will be directed by the distinguished Greek conductor Vladimiros Symeonidis, featuring the young and gifted Vassia Zacharopoulou and Spyros Klissas in covers of classics, such as The Music of the Night and I Could Have Danced All Night.
The open air concert by the Athens State Orchestra is part of the music series Parklife, under which different musical melodies from various artists and music ensembles harmonize with nature at the Stavros Niarchos Park.
The Parklife music concerts, as well as SNFCC’s public programming is implemented with free admission for all, thanks to the exclusive grant of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).
