24 July 2017

On Saturday, July 22, the opening of the “The Jim Henson Exhibition” took place at the Museum of the Moving Image (MoMI) opened The exhibit will be permanent, providing a dynamic visitor experience in MoMI’s new gallery space to explore Jim Henson’s groundbreaking work in film and television.

A broad range of  nearly 300 artifacts will be on display, revealing the behind-the-scenes workings of Henson’s work on “The Muppet Show”, “Sesame Street”, “Labyrinth”, and many others, including his lesser known and experimental work. Artifacts will range from some of his most famous puppets (Kermit the Frog, Miss Piggy, and Big Bird, to name a few), to storyboards, character sketches, costumes and behind-the-scenes footage.

The exhibition is supported by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation. More information can be found on Museum of the Moving Image’s website, here.
