In her interview with editor Margarita Pournara, Debora L. Spar refers to herself as an “outsider”, while mentioning her unconventional, or “strange”, as she describes it, professional course and, seemingly, different career paths, from Harvard Business School to Barnard College and now as the new Director of the Lincoln Center. However, as she says, these choices have provided her with valuable experience and essential tools.
At this year’s SNF conference, which explored the theme of Creativity, Imagination and the Importance of Reactivating Public and Ethical Spaces in a Highly Polarized Society, Debora L. Spar focused on the relation between culture and public spaces in contemporary societies.
The SNF has supported, through various grants, the work of the Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts.
