The New York Times on the Brooklyn Community Bail Fund
05 June 2017

The New York Times recently published an article about the effects of the bail system on low-income populations. The article discusses the work of SNF grantee, the Brooklyn Community Bail Fund, one of several charities created to pay bail for citizens who would otherwise go to jail for low-level offenses.

The Brooklyn Community Bail Fund (BCBF) pays bail of $2,000 or less for misdemeanor defendants who cannot otherwise afford it. The SNF provided general operating support to the BCBF in 2015.
