22 JUNE 2017 / SNF RUN: Running into the Future – Update for the Implementation of Traffic Arrangements by the Attica Traffic Police

On Friday, June 23rd, 2017, the evening race titled SNF RUN: Running into the Future will take place for the third consecutive year, as part of the events comprising the Summer Nostos Festival (www.SNFestival.org) and, like every year, the occasion will coincide with the celebration of the Olympic Day.

Pre-registration for the SNF RUN race has been completed, but all those who wish to experience the end of the race up close, as well as those in the vicinity of the city center, are kindly requested to take note of the following traffic arrangements. 

This year’s race will include 2 different routes, 10 and 6 kilometers respectively, as well as a 1 km race for Special Olympics athletes. The 10-km race will start at 20:40, while the 6-km race will start ten minutes later, at 20:50. The starting point for both races will be the Panathenaic Stadium and the finish line with be at the Stavros Niarchos Park. 

There will be a number of changes and diversions to normal traffic during the race, from 19:00 in the afternoon to the end of the race. Details of the specific road closures, which will be implemented gradually and on a temporary basis from 19:00, are as follows:

• On Vas. Konstantinou Avenue, the portion between Eratosthenous Street and Vas. Olgas Avenue, in the direction towards Vas. Sofias and all vertical routes until its first parallel.

• On Vas. Konstantinou Avenue, the portion between Vas. Alexandrou Ave. And Vas. Olgas Ave., in the direction towards Vouliagmenis Ave. and all vertical routes until its first parallel.

• On Vas. Sofias Ave., the portion between Zaharof Street and Vas. Alexandrou Ave. (Hilton), in the direction towards Syntagma Square and all vertical routes until the first parallel.

• On Vas. Sofias Ave., the portion between Vas. Konstantinou Ave. and Syntagma Square in both directions and all vertical routes until its first parallel.

• On Ardittou Street, the portion between Vouliagmenis Ave. and Vas. Olgas Ave., in both directions and all vertical routes until its first parallel.

• On Eratosthenous Street, the portion between Eftichidou Street and Vas. Konstantinou Ave., in the direction towards Vas. Konstantinou Avenue and all vertical routes until its first parallel.

• On Ilioupoleos Ave., the portion between Imittou and Karea Streets and all vertical routes until its first parallel.

• On Karea Street, the portion between Iolis Street and Vas. Konstantinou Ave. and all vertical routes until its first parallel.

• On Vas. Alexandrou Ave., the portion between Michalakopoulou Street and Vas. Sofias Avenue, in both directions.

• On Syntagma Square.

• Across the entire length of Ath. Diakou Street, and all vertical routes until its first parallel.

• On Vas. Amalias Ave., across its entire length and in both directions and vertical routes until its first parallel.

• On Syngrou Ave., across its entire length and in the direction towards Piraeus and all vertical routes until its first parallel.

• On Kallirois Ave., the portion between Frantzi Street and Vouliagmenis Ave., in both directions and all vertical routes until its first parallel.

• On Vas. Georgiou II Ave., across its entire length and all vertical routes until its first parallel.

• On Aravantinou Street, the portion between Isiodou Street and Vas. Konstantinou Ave.

• On Philellinon Street, across its entire length and all vertical routes until its first parallel.

• On Stadiou Str., the portion between Aiolou Str. and Syntagma Square and all vertical routes until its first parallel.

• On Akadimias Str., the portion between Ippokratous Str. and Vas. Sofias Ave. and all vertical routes until its first parallel.

• O Vas. Georgiou I Avenue, across its entire length.

• On Meleagrou Str., the portion between Isiodou Str. and Vas. Konstantinou Ave.

• On Kleanthous Str., across its entire length.

• On Vas. Olgas Ave., across its entire length, and in both directions.

• On Herodou Attikou Street, across its entire length and all vertical routes until its first parallel.

• On the Syngrou Ave. side road, the portion between Megistis Str. and Evripidou Str., in the direction towards Piraeus.

• On the Syngrou Ave. side road, the portion between Frangoudi Str. and Aristotelous Str., in the direction towards Piraeus

• On Tagmatarhou Plessa Str., the portion between Doiranis Str. and Syngrou Ave.

• On Doiranis Str., the portion between Lisikratous Str. and Evripidou Str.

• On Evripidou Str., the portion between the Syngrou Ave. side road and Lambrou Katsoni Str.

We apologize for any inconvenience caused by these traffic arrangements and invite you all to the end-of-the-race celebration, at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, which will include, among other things, a firework show and a concert with the Greek band ΜΕΛΙSSES.
