08 JUNE 2017 / Inauguration of the new model structure of the Municipal Clinic of Kipseli, with the SNF support

On Wednesday, June 7th, the first model Municipal Clinic of Kipseli was inaugurated by the Mayor of Athens, Mr. George Kaminis. The building that houses the Municipal Clinic underwent a complete redesign, thus allowing the Clinic to provide holistic support to vulnerable social groups, such as single-parent families, refugees, the uninsured and the homeless.

The model operation of the building is made possible through a grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), under the scientific direction of the Director of the Health Services Research Center of the University of Athens Medical School, Professor Yannis Tountas, and the support of the Athens Partnership (AP).

The Clinic launched its operation in its new form in March 2017, aiming to ensure the immediate provision of primary medical care, as well as work integration, psychosocial and counseling support services. Since then, and during its first two months in operation, it has facilitated more than 1.000 appointments, with the support of specialized scientific staff, including doctors, medical professionals and social scientists.
