07 JUNE 2017 / Annual Spring Gala from The Public Theater

On Monday, June 5th, The Public Theater held their annual spring gala in Central Park. Remarks were given by Arielle Tepper Madover, Chair of the Board of Trustees, Patrick Willingham, Executive Director, and Mandy Hackett, Associate Artistic Director.

Oskar Eustis, Artistic Director, introduced a performance called “Hair to Hamilton: 50 Years of Revolutionary Musicals from the Public”, a remarkable compilation of musical numbers from some of The Public’s most significant musicals, including Hair, Here Lies Love, Two Gentlemen of Verona, Hamilton, and many others. The event was attended by The Public Theater’s many supporters, including representatives from the SNF.

The SNF supports The Public Theater’s Mobile Shakespeare Unit and Public Works, providing underprivileged and marginalized communities to have access to top quality performances of Shakespeare and other works, and to be active participants in the creation and development of productions.
