Puppies Behind Bars 20th Anniversary Celebration

On Monday, may 8th, Puppies Behind Bars (PBB) held their 20th anniversary celebration in New York City. The event was hosted by actress Glenn Close, a personal supporter of Puppies Behind Bars.

More than 500 people attended the event. A panel discussion featuring Anthony Annucci, the New York State Acting Commissioner of Corrections and Community Supervision, Lt. Anthony Lordo, Chief of the Canine Unit at the Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island, Master Sgt. Len Fallis, Iraq Veteran, who graduated with his service dog in 2016, and Gilbert Molina III, a former inmate puppy trainer who now works full time for PBB. 

An SNF grantee, Puppies Behind Bars trains prison inmates to raise service dogs, some of which are used by wounded veterans, or by law enforcement for explosive detection.
