Hospital for Special Surgery (HSS) has announced program details and application deadlines for the newest round of professional education programs for orthopaedic surgeons from Greece, supported by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.

Each year, the HSS Stavros Niarchos Foundation Academic Visitor Program and HSS Stavros Niarchos Foundation Orthopaedic Education Seminar provides four and sixteen of Greece’s orthopaedic surgeons, respectively, with the opportunity to learn alongside experts at one of the world’s foremost institutions of orthopaedic medicine.

The HSS Stavros Niarchos Foundation Academic Visitor Program, launched in 2016, was designed for orthopaedic residents or early-career surgeons from Greece to come to HSS to observe surgical and clinical care. For the Fall 2017 cycle of the program, applications are being accepted through June 30.

The annual HSS Stavros Niarchos Foundation Orthopaedic Education Seminar, which has welcomed over 80 surgeons since 2007, was founded to teach Greek orthopaedic surgeons the latest techniques and innovations in orthopaedic surgery. In 2017, the program will take place from November 28 through December 2. Applications are accepted through August 31.

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation has partnered with HSS for over a decade to offer programs such as these to orthopedic surgeons from Greece. Dozens of surgeons have already participated, learning about best practices in care, and ultimately improving the health outcomes of their patients in Greece.

The program is implemented in its entirety by the Hospital for Special Surgery, who is solely responsible for admission requirements and selection procedures.
