22 MARCH 2017 / Seventh Annual Challenge Sainte Devote

On Saturday, March 18th, the Fédération Monégasque de Rugby hosted its seventh Challenge Sainte Devote sport event in Monaco, for which the Stavros Niarchos Foundation is a lead supporter.

The event consists of a rugby sevens challenge for children ages 10 to 12, as well as “rugby tots” and “rugby for all” activities. Additional opportunities were available for children with special needs to be introduced to the sport, and to enjoy rugby-related activities.

15 teams from 11 countries participated, rallying 180 players. This year, Greece was represented for the first time at the event by the Attica Springboks team. A player from the Greek team was awarded the Best Player of the Challenge prize, being one of the rare girls to participate. The challenge was won by a team from Cape Town, South Africa.
