On Tuesday, March 21st NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital held a dedication event in honor of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Surgical Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) and the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Women’s Urgent Care Unit, both funded by the SNF.

The event was held at the Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital in New York City, and attended by hospital staff and leadership from multiple departments, facilities management, and representatives of the SNF, among others.

Remarks were given by a number of people involved with the project: Steven J. Corwin, M.D., President and Chief Executive Officer of NewYork-Presbyterian; Peter Kalikow, Vice Chair, NewYork-Presbyterian Board of Trustees; Joseph Underwood, M.D., Chief of Emergency Medicine, NewYork-Presbyterian Columbia University Irving Medical Center; Steven Stylianos, M.D., Surgeon-in-Chief, NewYork-Presbyterian Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital; Andreas Dracopoulos, Co-President, Stavros Niarchos Foundation; Roula Siklas, Program Officer, Stavros Niarchos Foundation.

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation Women’s Urgent Care Unit is currently open and functioning, while the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Surgical Post-Anesthesia Care Unit will open later this year. These two state-of-the-art units will provide top of the notch medical care to the surrounding area, and New York City on a larger scale
