The Committee, which convenes on a regular basis, has been formed in order to monitor the effective progress of the project and work towards its successful delivery to the Greek State, as well as towards the optimal future operation of the SNFCC.
The full program of “Metamorphosis: The SNFCC to the World” was announced during the assembly. The events will take place at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center from Thursday, June 23rd to Sunday, June 26th. These open events will include guided tours to the new premises of the Greek National Opera, and the National Library of Greece, as well as to the Stavros Niarchos Park, in addition to a rich program of athletic, educational, and cultural events with the participation of hundreds of Greek and international artists. Limor Tomer, General Manager of Concerts & Lectures at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, acts as the Events’ Performance Curator, while the internationally acclaimed, experimental artist Laurie Anderson will be the guest Artistic Director for the program. Additionally, Robert Storr, Dean of Yale School of Art, with curators Barbara London, Kalliopi Minioudaki and Francesca Pietropaolo will present the video art program during the events.
The Foundation continues to livestream the meetings of the Special Advisory Committee in order for the general public to stay informed on the progress of the project till now and have knowledge of the steps being taken in anticipation of the delivery to the Greek State, which will be in charge of its operation as the SNFCC’s future owner. These meetings promote the effective partnership and cooperation between all parties involved, and are considered particularly important for the future operation of the SNFCC, as they provide participants with the opportunity to be informed on the developments of the project, exchange opinions, and manage any issues that may arise regarding the project’s operation in a timely manner.
