25 JUNE 2015 / The first SNFCC RUN was completed in success

In a spirit of optimism and hope for the future, the SNFCC RUN evening race took place on Tuesday, June 23rd, 2015. The route connected the heart of Athens to the sea, as the race started at the Panathenaic Stadium and finished at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center (SNFCC).

This was the first SNFCC RUN, bearing the symbolic title ‘Running into the Future’. The run aims to become a yearly event, celebrating the Olympic Day (June 23rd). In its first year of running, the event was well-received by the public, reaching the maximum number of participants, which was set by the organizers to 2.016, a symbolic number marking the year that the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center will be delivered as a gift to the Greek State.

The run was part of the four-day cultural and athletic events ‘Light Up the Night at the Stavros Niarchos Park’, that were organized from June 21st to June 24th at the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center. It was supervised by the ‘Regeneration and Progress’ NGO, and implemented through an exclusive SNF grant. The event was organized as part of the Olympic Day, under the auspices of the Hellenic Olympic Committee (HOC) and the Hellenic Police.

Thank you all for your participation!
