20 APRIL 2015 / MOYSA’s first concert at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall

On Sunday, April 19th, 2015 the newly formed Megaro Youth Symphony Orchestra ‘MOYSA’ gave its first major concert, in collaboration with the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO), at the Thessaloniki Concert Hall.

MOYSA, was created with a grant from the Stavros Niarchos Foundation, which supports the Orchestra’s first two years of operation. It is comprised by 84 members, between 8 to 25 years of age, coming from the Northern areas of Greece. It aims to nurture the talents of young musicians, train them and provide them with opportunities to develop further and build their professional path.

35 selected members of MOYSA and 15 selected members of EUYO, performed pieces of Skalkottas, Strauss and Schubert.

Additionally, an EUYO quintet gave two open performances at the streets of Thessaloniki, entertaining the public.
