Presentation of the newly acquired refrigerated truck at the Food Bank in Nice (France)
21 October 2014

On October 20, the Banque Alimentaire of the Alpes-Maritimes (Food Bank) in Nice inaugurated the newly refrigerated truck acquired thanks to the support of various donors including the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.

This acquisition will permit the organization to launch their Mobile Food Pantry distributing fresh food to people in need in underserved neighborhoods of Nice.  The 30th Anniversary of the French Food Banks was also celebrated on that day, giving the opportunity to visitors to better understand the activities, operations and product management of the Food Banks and also to discover the work of its volunteers.

The Banque Alimentaire of the Alpes-Maritimes was created in 1994 and is affiliated with the French Federation of Food Banks. The goals of the Food Bank are to fight against food waste and world hunger.
