Museum Conference “Balkan Museums without Barriers” in Sarajevo
27 October 2014

On October 28th, the conference “Balkan Museums without Barriers: Continuing to develop disabled people’s access to museums and heritage in the Western Balkans” will be held in Sarajevo (Bosnia and Herzegovina) organized by our grantee Cultural Heritage without Borders (CHWB) together with the Balkan Museum Network.

This will be the final conference related to the project “Spreading the word: sustainable accessible museums for disabled children and adults in the Western Balkans”. The aim of the conference is to disseminate best practices, strengthen collaboration and partnerships with disabled people and their organizations and promote the Balkan Museum Access Group as consultants in the region.

CHWB is a private Swedish Foundation and an international relief organization. It was founded in 1995 to preserve endangered cultural monuments and to organize educational programs with local help. Since 1996, CHWB has worked to restore damaged buildings and preserve cultural heritage, primarily in the Western Balkans.
