The two-day international conference will explore the issue of “Philanthropy and Sustainability", presenting issues involving best practices on innovative solutions protecting the environment, philanthropic support for environmental causes and more. The focus of the Fourth International Conference on Philanthropy is closely tied to the progress of the Foundation’s largest grant for the development of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Cultural Center, a project that includes the construction and complete outfitting of the new facilities of the National Library of Greece (NLG) and the Greek National Opera (GNO), as well as the creation of the 170,000m² Stavros Niarchos Park. Sustainability is one of the SNFCC’s fundamental values. The creation of an environmentally friendly and sustainable infrastructure for the buildings and the Park is an important goal in the design and construction of the SNFCC.
Additional information will be posted on the SNF website as this becomes available.
The Fourth International Conference on Philanthropy follows in the heels of the Third International Conference on Philanthropy which took place on June 26 and June 27, 2014.
