06 MARCH 2014 / The Mobile Medical Units visit Amorgos

On March 6th, the Mobile Medical Units will visit the island of Amorgos, where they will remain until March 11th. The Mobile Medical Units will be accompanied by a scientific team consisting of the following specialities: gynecologist, a dietician, cardiologist, dentist, orthopedist, ophthalmologist, pulmonologist and otolaryngologist.

So far approximately 1.600 appointments have scheduled and a total of 500 people are expected to be examined. Moreover pre-school, elementary and high school students will receive eye exams and a nutritional assessment.

The Mobile Medical Units were inaugurated in January 2014 and began their trip from Kastelorizo. The Mobile Medical Units is an initiative undertaken by the SNF in collaboration with the Olympic Village Polyclinic with the aim of offering health care programs to residents of islands and remote areas throughout Greece.
