Sixth Form Conference of the Royal Institution of Great Britain
07 March 2014

On March 7th, the Royal Institution of Great Britain, an SNF grantee, is organizing the Sixth Form Conference titled “The Greek Legacy: How did Greek mathematicians and philosophers shape modern mathematics?” The conference is part of an educational project on Greek mathematicians supported by the SNF.

The conference addresses mainly students, aged 16 to 19, studying for advanced degrees, and includes demonstrations of experiments first shown by Greek mathematicians, physicists and engineers as well as discussions on how Greek philosophers changed the views of how proof is perceived. Students from Imperial College will also present music and a drama performance, as well as a science competition.
