11 MARCH 2014 / Report on the “Economic Crisis, Social Welfare and Civil Society”

Τhe Crisis Observatory presented today the results of its research project “Economic Crisis, Social Welfare and Civil Society”, which was funded by Stavros Niarchos Foundation. The research was performed during the period of May - December 2013 and is based on the results of 35 interviews with civil society organizations. The project's aim was to record how civil society organizations have reacted to the crisis and document their activities in the area of social solidarity.

The Crisis Observatory is an initiative of ELIAMEP, created with the exclusive support of the SNF. The Crisis Observatory’s primary objective is to become a central hub for information, research and dialogue for both the Greek and European crises. The Crisis Observatory's guiding principle is the presentation of new research, policy proposals and information, which are based on solid arguments and empirical evidence, with a view to improving the level of public discourse about the crisis.
