On Tuesday, September 10th the renovated wing at the Center of Rehabilitation and Recovery of Disabled Children in Karditsa was inaugurated.
The renovated facilities cover an area of 500sqm and their completion will decongest the existing premises of the Center, which currently hosts 103 individuals. The new facilities will allow the Center to assist even more children and will significantly upgrade the services offered. The renovation works and the purchase of new buses were funded jointly by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation and the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation and the John S. Latsis.
Mrs. Elly Andriopoulou, Co-Chief Operating Officer of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation stated "The growing crisis affecting our country brings to the fore even more strongly the necessity and the moral debt that all the creative forces have to work together in order to address with the most effective manner the serious implications of the current socio-economic crisis. This grant is the result of cooperation between the Stavros Niarchos Foundation and the John S. Latsis Public Benefit Foundation. We are very satisfied from this cooperation and its results, which we witness here today. We hope that the decision by the two institutions to join forces in order to effectively assist the Center will find many imitators and it will set an example for even more similar initiatives.”
