Floga celebrates 30 years of action by honoring its supporters, including the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.
On March 4, 2013, Floga – The Association of Parents of Children with Cancer celebrated 30 years of supporting children with cancer and their families, during an event at Athens Concert Hall. The organization had the opportunity to honor all of its major supporters over the years, including the Stavros Niarchos Foundation.
In presenting SNF’s representative, Elly Andriopoulou, with an award, Floga’s, member of the Board of Directors, Ms. Christina Baka stated: “The Stavros Niarchos Foundation supports countless activities and organizations throughout the country and around the world. With character, quietly and discreetly the Foundation has emerged as the country’s greatest ever benefactor. With the Foundation’s support, we bought two apartments to house families, while we are in the process of buying two more. In addition photovoltaic panels were installed in our facilities, while last Thursday the Intensive Care Unit at the Children’s Hospital Agia Sophia was inaugurated. It was renovated through a grant by the Foundation and its renovation was implemented by Floga.”
