Dedication of the Stavros Niarchos Digital Mammography Suite
05 June 2009

On May 15, 2009, the New York Downtown Hospital dedicated the Stavros Niarchos Digital Mammography Suite. The Foundation was honored to participate in a ribbon cutting ceremony for the Suite, which houses the Digital Mammography Unit supported by the Foundation’s grant.

Digital technology ensures a better patient experience: appointments are less time-consuming, digital mammography offers improved detection, and doctors can quickly see and manipulate images on a computer screen to ensure that patients do not have to return for additional mammograms.

In attendance at the ceremony were Hospital leadership including Mr. Menkes, President and CEO, Dr. Min, Chairman of Radiology and Radiologist in Chief at NY Presbyterian Hospital/Weill Cornell Medical College, Dr. Licht, Senior VP for Medical Affairs and Chief Medical Officer, and Mr. Mann, recently-elected Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Hospital.
