13 NOVEMBER 2006 / Board of Directors Meeting in Thessaloniki

During the recent Board of Directors Meeting, of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation in Thessaloniki, various important grants were approved, both in Greece and abroad. Especially for N. Greece, the Board announced that it will continue its activities, by granting two major projects in the health sector, among other donations awarded.

The first, will take place in Alexandroupolis, in cooperation with the local General University Hospital, and the second, in Thessaloniki, in cooperation with the General State Hospital of Thessaloniki- Hippocrates. You may find attached, more information on the two projects.  

In Greece, the Stavros Niarchos Foundation provides support to endeavors that addresssocial welfare and health issues for underserved populations, with a particular emphasis on programs for children and the elderly. The Foundation also provides support for selected arts, culture and educational programs that promote, maintain, and preserve Greek heritage and that demonstrably contribute to the cultural life of Greece.
