STAVROS NIARCHOS FOUNDATION CULTURAL CENTER - Stavros Niarchos Foundation

The Stavros Niarchos Foundation is pleased to announce its intention to cooperate with the Greek State, in order to fully fund the expenses for the studies, construction and equipment of three major National Projects, located at the Athens Faliron Delta, in an area covering 200,000 sq. m., for the use of the general public adopting the most advanced international standards –especially in matters of access and use for persons with special needs.

• STAVROS NIARCHOS FOUNDATION NATIONAL LIBRARY: containing the National Collection, the former and current National Bibliography and thousands of titles that are housed in the current Library. This will be one of the most modern libraries, serving thousands of users in all geographic areas of Greece and abroad via internet technology.

• STAVROS NIARCHOS FOUNDATION NATIONAL LYRIC THEATER: equal to equivalent international cultural venues with exquisite acoustics and modern means and specifications.

• STAVROS NIARCHOS FOUNDATION CULTURAL & EDUCATIONAL PARK: an exciting “green site” will be created to host various cultural, educational, and entertaining activities.

Due to the size and complication of the projects, but also, due to their financial dimension, a preliminary phase of studies will take place, during which all the parameters will be discussed in cooperation with the respective Ministries and Public Services. Provided that this phase is successfully completed – based on the judgment of our Board of Directors – only then would our Foundation be able to commit fully in order to materialize these projects and to sign the relevant Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with mutually agreed upon terms and presumptions for all parties involved, to guarantee the projects’ finest possible operation.
