It’s an adventure—a new kind for Greece—that will require energy, state-of-the-art equipment, and a sense of exploration and unlimited possibility. The explorers are people who know how to look ahead: kids.
At the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF), we believe that helping kids explore their potential is the path to the greatest discoveries we can achieve. That is what we strive to support through Field of Life, a new initiative coming to the Athens suburb of Nikaia to help every child start their own exciting adventure, build character, and reach for their dreams.
Field of Life was born out of Panagiotis Giannakis and SNF’s collaborative vision for a multi-purpose place of learning, recreation, and development for all children and adolescents, especially kids who have limited access to such opportunities. It will be an exciting new 5,300-square-meter space featuring sports facilities, multi-purpose event and teaching spaces, study and recreation rooms. The facilities, which will include an indoor swimming pool, a music production studio, halls for entertainment and arts and crafts, basketball courts, soccer fields, and more, are expected to be completed in the first half of 2024.
Field of Life programs are based on the trio of Education/Culture, Sports, and Character, aiming to offer kids ages 6-17 opportunities for development; valuable experiences; and skills such as self-discipline, coping constructively with defeat, and the strength to believe in their own abilities and character. Field of Life will be open every day after school, providing a hot meal and help with that day’s homework, followed by a range of activities, including educational and recreational programs designed for young people of all ages.
Until its facilities are completed, Field of Life will regularly visit schools in Nikaia, Attica, and all over Greece, offering a variety of events and fun surprises. Learn more about upcoming events at gipedozois.org.
