Unlocking Humanity’s Potential by Empowering Scholars around the World

From the youngest children learning to read to older adults gaining new skills, access to education is essential.

Two core beliefs of the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF)—that people should have access to opportunity for growth and fulfillment regardless of their background, and that we all benefit from the exchange of knowledge across borders and barriers—meet in the Foundation’s longstanding support for scholarships around the world.

From Liechtenstein to Bhutan and Australia to Canada, SNF supports scholarships that enable students to access transformative education at the primary, secondary, undergraduate, and post-graduate levels.

Students at Randolph-Macon College in Virginia dig into the history of an ancient city through excavations at the Athenian Agora. Military service members and veterans in the United States pursue their academic passions through the Tillman Scholar Program. Greek art students study with Italian silversmiths in a program from the Siena Art Institute. In Australia, budding engineers and architects grow in knowledge, skills, and confidence at the University of Queensland. Students at Hunter College in New York, where many are the first in their families to attend college, have the opportunity to travel abroad and nurture their cross-cultural curiosity and competency.
