The Schieffer Series weighs the implications of the AUKUS submarine deal
Oct 20, 2021
The deal reshaped, at a stroke, the contours of geopolitical relations in the Indo-Pacific region, simultaneously bolstering Australia’s naval clout, putting forward a counter to China’s ambitions, and outraging a close ally, France.
Experts from the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) parse the global impact of the deal in the latest installment of the Schieffer Series. The virtual event, taking place Thursday, October 21 EDT, is free and open to the public with advance registration.
The Schieffer Series is supported by the Stavros Niarchos Foundation (SNF).
