The Hellenic Initiative recognizes and honors the Stavros Niarchos Foundation

The Hellenic Initiative (THI) is a global not-for-profit organization, which aims “to mobilize the Greek diaspora and philhellene community to support sustainable economic renewal for Greece and its people.” THI honored the Stavros Niarchos Foundation during its inaugural gala for its efforts to support Greece and provide relief during the socioeconomic crisis, as well as for its leadership in stepping up to take immediate and direct action. In accepting the award on behalf of the Foundation, Andreas Dracopoulos announced a new long-term €100 million effort, Recharging the Youth, aiming to provide new opportunities to Greece’s younger generations, which are crippled by the country’s rising unemployment levels.
